We’ve had numerous issues with GoDaddy, with DNS service settings being recent (twice) and additional services associated to our account (not initiated by us) that we decided to move everything to Amazon Web Services.
Migration Plan is as follows:
Q4 2019: BillGrid Blog
Q1 2020 DNS Service (Service that connects URL to Hosting)
Q2 2020 Domain name (billgrid.com)
Q3 2020 Email Services (currently run by mandrill/Mailchimp)
Q3+ 2020 Hosting (application)
Q3+ 2020 Database
All of the above migration is intended to improve the speed and reliability of the services. Our goal is not to have any service interruptions while this is happening, but occasional hiccups are possible.
Thank you for your continuous support of BillGrid services.
Sincere apologies to all our clients. In the last few days our records with GoDaddy (website domain URL provider) were randomly updated, which resulted in the website not loading and at the same time emails not routing correctly, which cut off the lines of communications with most of you even further.
We completely had no idea, since the support mailbox was quiet. It is true that all is very quiet before the storm.
We’ll be making changes by adding additional alerts and switching to a more reliable domain provider in the next few weeks. Appreciate your patience on this, and please do reach out if any questions, our services and communications are back online.
Below are the details from our follow up with GoDaddy, we’re looking to switching hostname service providers in the next few weeks.
